The exhibition at MAMUZ Schloss Asparn/Zaya provides a comprehensive insight into the Stone Age, Metal Age and Writing Age. On three floors with around 1,100 m² of exhibition space, the development and achievements of mankind are presented in an exciting and new way as an adventure for visitors. Another special feature of the exhibition is its unusual design, which provides plenty of variety with its interactive stations, true to our motto: discover, marvel, try it out!

New Archaeological Highlights

Ten years after its comprehensive redesign, the permanent archaeological exhibition at MAMUZ Schloss Asparn/Zaya is more impressive than ever. Extraordinary new finds, including a Bronze Age dagger of the “South Russian type” and a Roman legionary helmet, tell the story of far-reaching contacts 5,000 years ago and heavily modified military equipment.

We present the highlights from the Prehistory and Historical Archaeology collection of the Lower Austrian Provincial Collections, which includes exciting objects from the cultural history of Lower Austria from the Ice Age to the Middle Ages.

The exhibition of unique objects in MAMUZ Schloss Asparn is complemented by the archaeological outdoor area with life-size, fully functional models of prehistoric residential and farm buildings, which invite you on a journey of discovery through 40,000 years of history.
