European Exhibition Network (EEN)

Founded in 2011 by the Drents Museum in Assen in the Netherlands, the Upper Austrian State Museums in Linz, and the Historical Museum of the Palatinate in Speyer, the European Exhibition Network is now a network of seven medium-sized museums committed to strong international cooperation and orientation. In addition to the museums in Assen and Speyer, the current members include the MAMUZ Museum Mistelbach and Schloss Asparn/Zaya, the Spanish museums MARQ Alicante and Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya in Barcelona, the Danish Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus, as well as the State Office for Heritage Management and Archaeology / State Museum of Prehistory in Halle, Germany.

During annual conferences, the members inform one another about upcoming projects, explore opportunities for cooperation on exhibitions, and exchange important experiences. Among other achievements, the exhibition “Maya” was presented not only in Mistelbach, but also in Speyer, Assen, and Alicante.

In 2026, MAMUZ cooperated with the Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya on the exhibition “The Mysterious World of the Iberians,” only the third major archaeological exhibition on Iberian culture outside of Spain—and the first in Austria.
