40,000 years of our development can be relived in the castle Schloss Asparn/Zaya with original items and also at the adjacent archaeological open-air site with the historical residential, farming and trade buildings.

In addition to the prehistory shown so far, in 2018 ancient history and objects from Lower Austrian mediaeval archaeology are also being presented in the castle.

On three floors with an exhibition area of around 1,100 m², the development and achievements of the human race have been covered in an exciting and completely new way as an adventure for visitors.

The exhibition gives a comprehensive insight into prehistory, ancient history and mediaeval archaeology. As well as original items, interactive stations also let visitors really get to grips with history. They can discover how to write their name in runic writing or also the difference in difficulty in processing copper, bronze and iron.
